Power of Prayer

I can't sleep tonight because all I can think about is Sarah. You go along in life thinking you are untouchable some days and then you read about a friend and her battle with cancer. Why her? Why now? I'm not sure I could ever answer those questions, but I believe I know someone that can. I will now pray everyday for her, hoping that he will listen and answer my questions, why? I truly believe in the power of prayer, and I hope if you read my blog that you too will add Sarah to your prayers.

Blog Changes

I'm trying to change my blog because so many have given me a hard time about ignoring it. But now that I have changed things, I want to change it back. I'm working on it!

Where have you been?

I have left the blog world for too long. It is time to catch up on things that have been going on since March. Let's show a photo blog of what has been going on:

I went to Philly with Britta. She worked I played!

Emilly turned 6!
I've lost 100lbs. I also liked Amanda's hair, so I tried the look myself!

Went hiking in Bryce for Easter weekend with the family. It was nice and relaxing!

Oh, and I finished my first and last half marathon. Take a look at the toes and you will understand why it is my last!

Everything happens for a reason...

I truly believe that there are no coincidences in life. My experience today proves that there is always a reason for things.

I have had a rough week, I have been stressed and very grumpy, just waiting for the week to be over. I was able to sleep in today, which always brings a little joy to my life. The only things on my agenda today were a little Target shopping and attend a birthday party for my friend's little girl, Reagan, who turns 1 today. I will admit that I was really looking forward to the party because Reagan just bring such joy into my life. Reagan is a happy, sweet, wonderful baby. I really needed her smile this week.

So off to Target I went, purchased everything I needed, and a couple things I didn't. I stopped by the bank to cash my $18.50 check for jury duty (that is another point of anger), and decided to go to Cafe Rio for lunch. I walked into Cafe Rio at noon and saw the line and nearly turned and walked out. But I was hungry for a delicious enchilada. I was waiting in line when I saw the adoptive family of my baby CASA that had passed away in August (many of you know that losing and attending this infant's funeral was very difficult for me). I reached my hand out and touched their shoulder. They turned, looked at me and immediately teared up. I asked them how things were going and how they were doing? They reminded me that today would have been their sweet baby's 1st birthday and that today has been very difficult. With a tear in my eye I told them how appropriate it was that we saw each other today.

I finished my order and returned to my vehicle. I sat silently and cried. It was a good moment, and it reminds me that everything happens for a reason.

Uncle Eddie is 50!

This weekend was filled with family and celebration. My Uncle Eddie turned 50 and we headed to Boise to celebrate. My mother's family is so entertaining and so entertainingly dysfunctional! We had dinner at my grandfathers on Friday, because he wasn't invited to his son's (uncle Eddie) party. Yep, that's right...that would be the dysfunctional part! It was fun none the less.

The Birthday boy and his brother!

My cousin Jamie and Kevyn. This kid has style! Gold boots!!!!!

My Grandpa....... Cousins Jamie and Erin.

Jamie/Photographer in heels! Erin and her son Bryson. My dad looking cools in the shades.

What kids say...

I think of this conversation with my sweet Em often....

Em (from the back seat of my car)

..."Aunt Krystal is your favorite color black?"

Me

..."No, why?"

Em

..."because this car is black and your car before was black, so I think your favorite color is black."

Me

..."I would say my favorite color is blue."

Em (a pause for a moment)

..."do you know that cars come in blue?"

Laughter from me. I love that kid!

My top 3 picks would be...

  1. An Education

  2. Push

  3. 500 Days of Summer

I think all will get picked up and will come to a theatre near you.

My top 3 waste of my time...

  1. Nollywood Babylon

  2. Cliente (French Film)

  3. Johnny Mad Dog (Soooooo violent, but a film that represents the young African rebel fighters).

I also got to see parts of other movies while I was working. I felt guilty for sitting in on anymore, but I got to see most of the following films...

  1. William Kunstler

  2. Paper Heart (Very good movie that makes you think about "being in love"

  3. Zion and His Brother

  4. Grace (Weird baby zombie movie)

My biggest brush with celebrity was Saturday night while La Mission was playing. This movie stars Benjamin Bratt and is directed by his brother Peter Bratt. Ben and Peter sat in the lobby near me for 2 hours and I finally got the courage to ask for Ben's autograph. I talked to him for a minute and got his autograph. Then another volunteer got her picture with him, which I then had her send it to me.

Kyle Korver....front row

That's right, I had front row tickets to the January 12th Jazz game. I had Kyle Korver overload! It was so much fun. Here are some photos from my experience.

This is shortly after Kyle and I made eye contact!
Kyle's socks! Hehe!

I could have reached out and touched him...

Kori and me in heaven! The Bear would not leave us alone.

My feet on the floor. I'm not joking when I say we were sitting on the floor.

Oh Kyle how I love all your sides, including your back side!

And there are others
