The life cycle....

This weekend I had an up close view of the life cycle. Friday afternoon I went to visit my friends beautiful baby girl. The little one was born February 27th, weighing in at 6lbs 14 oz, and 19 1/2 inches long. She is amazingly beautiful with her dark hair and dark eyes. I held her in my arms for the two hours I was there visiting. My friend looked amazing for just giving birth, alert and happy. Her husband appeared to more tired after sleeping on the uncomfortable "bed" they provided in the hospital. I love to hold newborns and think about all the things they might be. The innocents they possess in one little body is uplifting.

Later that evening I had the unfortunate task of going to a viewing for a ex-coworkers husband that past away in his sleep. I believe he was only 38. I was prepared with Kleenex in hand to cry my eyes out. It was oddly not as sad as I anticipated. My ex-coworker appeared to be in shock and did not cry much. Her and her husband were high school sweethearts and married shortly after high school. They have been together ever since. I can not imagine losing the love of my life, my best friend, so early in life.

I have not experienced either of these experiences for myself, but at some point I might, so it reminds me that life is precious in all its forms. So from a distance I had an up close experience of the life cycle in one day. I think it is important to suppot those around you during their happiset and most difficult moments in thier lives.
